10 Whole Years!!

It’s hard to believe that ten years ago, I said I Do to my best friend. I never could have dreamt up what an incredible life we would share together. So much has happened since that day and through it all, I have come to love this man more than I ever thought was possible.

I always love to hear the stories of my couples and thought it’d be fun to share a little of ours with you…
Our families moved to the same little town when we were both three years old. We were in the same church for a little while and Lindsey’s mom even threw a baby shower for my little brother. Growing up, we would see each other around but didn’t really become friends until my freshman year of high school in 2000. Lindsey was a grade above me, ┬ábut because I was an “over achiever” we ended up in the same Biology class. We got sat at the same table and that’s where our relationship really started to grow. *Side note: I never got kicked out of a classroom until then #badinfluence

I really loved the guy and he became one of my closest friends. He, however, felt a little more strongly than that. Despite me being in other relationships, Lindsey made his feelings very clear. He finally won me over in 2003, when we held hands for the first time on Pirates of the Caribbean.

Fast forward to 2006…Our good friends invite us to go to Disneyland with a big group. We head over to Pirates of the Caribbean and our entire group fills one boat. However, right after we all get in, everyone stands up and gets off, leaving just Lindsey and me. Before I can understand what’s going on, the boat takes off with just the two of us in it. As we get to the treasure room (the spot where we first held hands) Lindsey gets down on one knee and asks me to marry him! It was one of the happiest days of my life at the happiest place on earth. :)

We got married the following year on February 24, 2007. Yes, we were young. But I honestly wouldn’t have it any other way. I love our story and all the experiences that have come with it, including our two incredible children. Yes, we’re parents, yes we’re “adults”, yes we have a business…but we will never stop being those two kids getting kicked out of biology together.
Here’s to a gazillion more years! Let’s make each moment an unforgettable one. I love you Lindsey!!
